Yew Tree Lodge is a magnificent period residence which dates back to the mid 17th century. The house is accessed via a wonderful front door with pedimented doorcase which incorporates a fanlight. The central entrance hall has some lovely features including an ornate centerpiece and coving, frome here, there is access to both reception rooms. On the left hand side is the living room which has a large window to the front with working shutters, there is an attractive fireplace with a stove in place. The sitting room has similar proportions to the living room and also has a window to the front and a solid fuel stove fitted in the fireplace. A central hall provides access to the kitchen at the rear of the property. The central hall has wainscoting to one wall and there is access to a room under the stairs. The area under the stairs reveals some of the original wattle and daub wall from when the house was constructed. At the rear of the house there is a ground floor toilet which has recently been refurbished and the kitchen / dining area. The kitchen has also been tastefully refurbished and incorporated integrated appliances within a fitted kitchen which is made from solid wood (cherry wood).
