Derreenrickard Cottage was purchased in 1993 by the current owners, who saw massive potential in the derelict cottage and overgrown land. In 1993 they started work on the gardens to transform them into the beauty they are today. In 1996 they extended and refurbished the house to a pretty stone fronted cottage. The gardens were transformed over the years where flowers, plants and trees were planted from all over the world.
Today, the gardens are splendid with paths wrapping around and entwining with benches on route to take full advantage of savoring its beauty.

The house comprises of a stone entrance hall with a guest shower room, a study with a gas fire, large living room with beams and an open stone fire, a bay window which overlooks the captivating gardens and views of Kenmare bay.
The kitchen/dining room also has wonderful views of the gardens and Kenmare bay.
A half door leads from the kitchen to the outside patio. Upstairs has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The bedrooms also take advantage of the wonderful views.
